Bonner County VINE Coverage
The Idaho Sheriffs' Association calls VINE a statewide victim-services program run with Appriss. It links to jail booking systems across Idaho plus the Idaho Department of Correction. Registered users can get notices about incarceration status, release, and court events. These arrive where the connected system provides them.
No statewide description lists every county jail. Bonner County's own detention pages stay silent on participation too. So skip promises and verify it yourself. Open the Idaho VINELink state screen and run the selector. Register only when the right record appears. A Bonner result cannot be promised in advance.
VINE does one job: custody notification. It is not a universal archive, a county booking-photo source, or a federal locator. Records can lag, vanish from search after a release, or sit under an identifier spelled differently from what you typed.
Search a Bonner VINE Arrest
Begin with exact, official identity details. A broad name can pull up several people at once. A single spelling error can pull up no one. Check the county or facility, the custody state, and any offender or case number before treating a result as the right person.
- Open the Idaho state screen in VINELink and choose the current Idaho search option.
- Enter the person’s exact name or another identification field the live interface allows.
- Review all possible matches without assuming the first result is correct.
- Confirm facility, county, status, and any case or offender reference against known official details.
- If the correct record is available, open it and use the displayed registration control for notices.
Labels on the interface can change. So follow the live instructions rather than an old screenshot. Try an alias or alternate spelling only when an official record backs it up. Never invent a middle name, age, or ID from a private profile. The official Idaho VINELink application displays its state-level search path directly.

That live state screen is where you test current Bonner availability. Keep other people's private notification details out of any saved image.
Note: A no-result answer is not proof that the person was never arrested, booked, transferred, or released from another system.
Bonner VINE Result Fields
Which fields appear depends on the participating jail or corrections feed and the current interface. VINE may still give enough to sort out a likely match and understand the custody event. It does not expose every field found in the Bonner sheriff's inmate PDF.
| Possible VINE detail | What it can mean |
|---|---|
| Custody status | The status received from the connected participating system. |
| Facility or location | Where the connected record reports the person is held or supervised. |
| ID or case reference | An identifier that may help separate people with similar names. |
| Release information | A reported release event or available release detail, subject to feed timing. |
| Transfer information | A movement reported by the participating custody system. |
| Notification options | The channels offered for that record, which may vary by event and system. |
Public VINE material for Bonner County lists no booking photo. The sheriff's current inmate PDF carries the richer arrest details: arrest date, agency, location, offense, related case, scheduled release, and remaining bond due. That document carries no image either. Use each channel for what it actually does. Custody status is also not case disposition. To learn whether a case was filed, and how it ended, turn to the court record.
Register for Bonner Custody Alerts
When a matching record allows registration, pick the notice type and a contact channel you can monitor safely. Idaho program material describes phone and email release notices. The live interface may add text as well. Court-appearance notices may come through the statewide court-notification module.
- Open the verified record and select the current registration or notification option.
- Choose an available event, such as release, transfer, incarceration-status change, or court notice.
- Enter a phone, text, or email destination exactly as the live service requests.
- Create and retain the four-digit PIN when telephone registration calls for one.
- Complete any confirmation step and update the registration if contact details change.
The Idaho Department of Correction's victim-services description says phone release notices may repeat at intervals. They keep going until you enter the PIN. That PIN confirms receipt. Keep it out of public screenshots and away from anyone who should not use it.
Registration costs nothing. Delivery still depends on accurate contact data, a valid subscription, and a status change entered by the agency. It also depends on working phone or network service. Treat VINE as one alert layer, never a whole safety plan. Urgent safety concerns belong with law enforcement or qualified counsel.
Use VINELink Without Personal Data
A screenshot can explain the service without exposing a real victim's phone number, email, PIN, or alert choices. The official VINELink home page serves as the general entry point. Pick Idaho there and follow the current application flow.

The public landing page steers users into the live system. Registration details stay inside the secure workflow. Never test the alert form with someone else's personal data. Use a legitimate search purpose and your own contact destination. If the interface changes, the on-screen terms and help content control the mechanics. Old captures are context. They do not stand in for the active service.
Note: Keep the VINE PIN private and return to the live record to change or stop notifications when circumstances change.
When Bonner VINE Finds Nothing
A blank screen can mean several things. Maybe the name was spelled differently at booking. The arrest may be too fresh for the feed, or the person was already released. A transfer to another custody system also hides results. Starting the search in Idaho does not pull in Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE custody.
So turn to the sheriff's own list. The Bonner County Sheriff's current inmate offense list shows who is in custody in the county, though the PDF lags and includes older booking dates. Need something newer? The Bonner County Arrested Today route explains how to call the booking-information line when the PDF cannot settle the question.
State prison custody goes through IDOC's resident search and victim-services channels. Federal custody needs a federal locator. County jail, state prison, and federal systems stay separate on purpose. Each keeps its own data.
- Transfer
- A move from one custody location or agency to another.
- Release
- Departure from the reported custody state, not necessarily the end of the criminal case.
- Detainer
- A request from another authority that can affect custody or transfer.
- Disposition
- The court’s outcome, which VINE does not decide.
Verify Bonner Custody Changes
VINE alerts do not always fire the moment staff log a release or transfer. A feed has to catch the change, and your registration has to stay valid. Before any time-sensitive decision, compare the alert with the sheriff's current roster. Then call the holding agency.
The Bonner County booking-information line is 208-263-8417 ext. 3005. Written record requests go to the Bonner County Sheriff's Office at 4001 North Boyer Road, Sandpoint, ID 83864. You can also email records@bonnercoid.gov. Say exactly which booking, release, or transfer record you need. VINE alone is not the full booking file.
When VINE and the county record seem to disagree, write down the date and time shown by each. Then ask the agency holding the person. That settles feed lag without guessing.
VINE Versus Idaho Sheriff Connect
Idaho Sheriff Connect is a separate tool, not a VINE substitute. A 2025 Daily Bee report described what it offers Bonner County users: jail information, current inmates, booking images, and case tracking. It can send updates by call, email, or text. The mobile interface may feel convenient. Still, its purpose differs from VINE's statewide victim-notification program.
Neither service is flawless. The sheriff app can shift its menus, suffer outages, or drop its images entirely; user reviews in 2026 mentioned missing photos. VINE lags at times too. But VINE centers on custody status and event alerts, not photo display. For a published custody record, the Bonner inmate PDF remains the official starting point, and a written request to the sheriff opens the path to a fuller arrest record.
Keep each tool in its lane. The sheriff PDF shows current custody and arrest fields. Idaho Sheriff Connect adds optional county app features. VINE handles matching custody records plus alerts, IDOC covers state correctional custody, and federal locators serve federal systems. No single channel answers every arrest, custody, image, and court question.
